Expansion of Al Haram Satellite City
The master plan is an expansion of the Thakher City-1 project which expounds further the notion of balancing the transient requirement of the pilgrims and the more longstanding needs of the permanent residences.
This is done through the creation of a main urban spine which will spread new zones for recreation, shopping and amenities. Disseminated throughout these new zones are hotels, resorts, a museum, residential units, an Islamic village and service apartments which are all focussed on the shopping mall, a convention centre and the grand mosque. The main spine acts as an urban integrator to harmonise all these components together via one unifying central plaza and park.
