Embracing the Holy Kaaba
The master plan capitalises on the fact that the site is only 1,430 meters away from the Holy Kaaba and is connected with the new Al-Haram extension.
The development will organise 115 buildings, which consist of 70,000 hotel guest rooms and 9,000 residential units, in a circular arrangement focusing on the Holy Kaaba. A terraced urban design approach will enable the maximisation of views towards the Al Haram mosque. In addition, 360,000m² of commercial space will be interspersed between the major hotel and residential complexes.
The project is designed to provide developmental impetus to the general Al Haram area and will be able to comfortably cater for 310,000 visitors per day.
